Producer prices in Jordan rose by 3.47% year-on-year in August 2026, easing from a 3.64% increase in July and registering the smallest annual gain since the deflation recorded in March.

The slowdown was largely driven by a sharp moderation in price growth in the mining and quarrying sector, where inflation dropped to 1.50% from 6.99% in July. Within this sector, prices for other mining and quarrying activities softened notably (1.90% vs 7.50%), while prices for crude oil and natural gas plunged, standing at -20.26%. The electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply category also saw a slight decline in price growth (1.74% vs 1.91%).

In contrast, producer prices in the manufacturing sector edged higher, rising 3.71% year-on-year compared with 3.55% in July. This increase was supported by stronger price gains in several subcategories: coke and refined petroleum products (33.67% vs 31.36%), basic metals (1.27% vs -0.56%), furniture (0.88% vs -12.64%), computer, electronic and optical products (5.53% vs 5.49%), and motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers (3.75% vs 0.97%).

On a monthly basis, producer prices fell by 0.61% in August, following a 1.07% decline in the previous month.
